Fish Hatchery

A couple of weeks ago we took the boys to a fish hatchery in Ogden. This was the first time that they have gone fishing and the first time that they caught their own fish. They had a lot of fun though. Neither of them wanted to touch the fish when they caught them. I guess that is what dad and grandpa roger were for. The boys caught 4 fist each. (it did not take much to catch any fish. they were swarming around in hundreds see below) Anyway it was a fun time to spend the afternoon.the boys scoping out the best fishing spot
Kode studying the fishing poles. Trying to figure out which one would be the best one
Bry said this fishing pole is going to be the one that gets him the biggest fish!!
Shawn filling up the buckets with water. Getting them ready for all of the fish that the boys catch
On our way to the best fishing spot!
There were 5 different ponds to fish from and each of them were plumb full like this one
Kode caught his first fish
Grandpa Roger helping Bry fish. He would throw food into the water for the fish to eat and Bry would catch one. It was a great way to fish.
Kode posing with his first fish that he has ever caught
Bry trying not to touch his first fish!
Thanks Mom and Roger for taking us to this fish hatchery. The boys had a great time!

mini air planes

Ever since Koda asked to have an army room he wanted air planes to hang from the ceiling. So one day Shawn and I were at the store and came across some cool mini air planes that we thought would be cool to hang in his room. So we purchased a few of them. Shawn came home tied each one with some fishing line and hung them up throughout his room. Its pretty cool and now his room is complete.
(sorry the pictures of the planes are not the greatest!)

First Day of School!!

Summer is officially over cause today the boys went back to school today! Wow where did the summer go, it went by so fast!
I was a little worried about the boys getting up for school today. (Since they have been staying up late most of the summer and then sleeping in until 9:30-10:00) But they did great about getting up and getting themselves ready for school. (I think they both are very excited for school.) Then they were on their way down for some breakfast. I asked them if I could take a few pictures of them for their first day of school. They did great and then that is when Bry lost it. He got very emotional. (he said he was worried about something happening at the house while he was gone, and then he said that he was worried about the dogs, and he was worried about not having any friends) He cried through breakfast, all the way down to the school, into the building and into the classroom. (this is so not like Bry) Once he saw some of his class mates he wiped his tears and was just fine. (his teacher said he had a great day) I am not sure what all that was about but the day was a great one!
Bry all ready for 2nd grade!!
Kode ready for 4th grade. He had a great day. He jumped out of the car when we got to the school and said "this is going to be a great day" and it was. His teacher said that he had a great day and she is so excited to have him in her class.
I am so excited for this year. Its going to be a great year!!

New Carpet

So we finally decided it was time to get new carpet. That lovely blue stuff we were calling carpet had to go. We have been saying we were going to do this for a while now so we did it. The week before I had surgery we moved everything from all the rooms into the garage and into the middle of the living room and then we ripped out all the old yucky stuff. Yea I am not much of a fan of all this chaos but I knew we really needed to get new carpet. (I can't stand it when things are all over the place) I like remodeling my house I just don't like the huge mess it makes. But I do have to say it looks 1000 times better than it used to!!
and the mess carries into the garage
This is Bry's dresser. Every time he needed to get dressed he had to go out into the garage to get his cloths.
and the same for Koda. He just hated that his cloths were in the garage!
(thank goodness it is only temporally)
This is what the middle of our living room looked like. Anytime anyone would come over to our house this is what they would see. A HUGE MESS!! We decided to put our bed and dresser in the middle of the living room. It would be easier for me for when I came home from the hospital. That way I would have access to the kitchen and bathroom since the doctor did not want me to do any stairs for a week or so.
This is what the new carpet looks like
(sorry the camera does not do it justice)
Its so soft and I just love the smell of new carpet!!
Our new carpet is so much nicer. I am so glad to have it installed and over with. Now we (or should I say Shawn since I can not lift anything for 6 weeks. man I have to say this is so hard to do. I am not much of a couch/bed potato.) has to get the house back to normal again!

missing my boys!!

Man I am sure missing my boys. The house is very quite and the neighbor kids knock on the door often asking "when are the boys are coming home?"
The boys have been hanging with grandparents and playing with cousins. They have gone swimming a few times, gone to the movies, played at the arcade, gone up the canyon for a picnic, watched fireworks, gone to Lagoon, received new electric scooters, made bird houses, went to a ranch and rode horses, roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and I am sure other things too. But I am ready for them to come home.
I am starting to feel better and I can drive now! So I am ready for them to come home. I am ready to hear their voices out playing with all the neighbor kids, I am ready for their laundry, and their little messes around the house. Just a few more days and they will be home!
(after talking to them they don't seem real excited to come home. they are enjoying hanging with the grandparents and staying up late)
I miss seeing this little bucky beaver boy
and I miss my big helper
we just have so much fun with them
even when we stay in our pj's all day
love that smile!!
We miss you boys!!
