HALLOWEEN!!

 HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

We had a great Halloween this year! The boys made out like bandits in the candy department. We don't get many trick-or-treaters around our neighborhood so that's where the boys wanted to go. And they got tons of candy! Anyway this is what they decided to dress up as!
Bry was some sort of zombie killer.
(he just wanted a trench coat. Then he wanted to put one of his fedora hats with it and some fake blood on his face and take his sward as a prop. It worked for me as long as he was satisfied)

the three of us (I had to dress up for work so I decided to dress up as a kitty cat. I looked around for an adult costume well let me tell you there are a lot out there but man they are skimpy. I am a preschool teacher and all not a hooker and that is about what they are these days) Anyway I wanted a photo with the three of us in it!

Kode wanted to be an Army man!
He looked great!

then I just wanted a photo of the boys together!

All in all we had a great Halloween! Mac had to work. So he wasn't able to hang with us.

~Goodbye~

So we said goodbye to the condo!! Its kinda sad to see it go. Its been a great place for everyone to meet, hang out and go swimming. It was in a great location and I always felt safe there but I understand under the circumstances why it needed to be sold!
the kitchen where we always cooked breakfast.
(all the other meals we always ate out. going out of town where there are so many choices to choose from and places to eat we just didn't want to cook at the condo. but breakfast gave us a great start to the day)

and the living room. having that extra pull out bed was great!

and the 1 and only bedroom!

and our door! we had condo 308!! Well thanks to the condo (and Grams and Rog) for all of the wonderful memories we are always going to remember while we stayed at the condo!!

Earning his first badge!

Kode decided he wanted to join boy scouts a couple of weeks ago. So we got him all signed up and on his way. Well their first badge they are working on his their exercise badge. So the director asked if I would drop Kode off at the police department so that he could use their equipment and that is where he could earn his badge. He is not the only boy scout working on this badge so it was nice to know he wasn't going to be the only one there. Anyway he is really enjoying scouts.

I just wish I could talk Bry into joining scouts. (he dosen't want to cause he would be in a different group then Kode. He would actually be a Cub Scout. When he turns 11 years old then he would move up to be a Boy Scout and then he would be in Kodes group. So we are all still working on him!

FaMiLy

Some of Shawn's family came and visited us for a few days this past week. It was great to have them down. Even though the boys had to go to school and I had to work we still had a great time with them. Thanks Peggy, Pam, Rachel, Jordan, Isaac, and Hannah for visiting us at our house. We loved having you!!

Kode started Basketball last week. So we all decided it would be lots of fun to go and see him practice.
Here are the kids just chillin' watching them practice.
(Isaac, Hannah, Bry, and Jordan)

and us adults just hanging out!

tryouts

Kode decided he wanted to tryout for basket ball. (well every boy makes it on a team. they all have to try out infront of several coaches and then the coaches decide their skill level and then split the boys up on different teams. this way its fair for everyone) So the other night Kode and I went to his school for tryouts! He did everything that the coach asked of him and he did great!  We should find out in a few days which team he is on! We are excited to see him play!!

they split the boys up into 4 groups. they had several boys sign up. kode was in the first group for tryouts!

here is a side view of him!

 going for a layup!

this picture made me laugh. He jumped as he threw the ball to his team mate!

Anyway we are all excited to hear what team he is going to be in!! Hopefully his coach will call us soon!!
(bry is to young to play on a city basket ball team. so he just gets to see kode and our neighbor friends play. hopefully next year he will be able to play!)

Kodes walk-a-thon

On Friday Kodes school held their annual walk-a-thon. I made sure I was done with things at work so that I could join him. It was fun. They had everyone walk around a foot ball field. It was very muddy and some of the kids were sliding around in the mud on their stomachs. Just let me say that those middle school kids are a different breed! I guess I just need to get myself acclimated or something but holy cow!! Anyway, here are a few pictures I took!
stopping for a quick drink!

and then he walked and walked and walked. They had the kids walk, run, slide, dance, and play around for an hour! It was kind of crazy! But I do have to say they played some good music on the loud speakers so that we all had something to walk to! Some of the music we could dance to while we were walking and most of the teachers were jammin'! It was pretty cool!!

Kode and Jakob
(one of his friends and our neighbor)

All in all the walk-a-thon was good. I enjoyed being able to spend sometime with Kode!
Thanks Kode for letting me hang with you!! I enjoyed it!

Family Pictures

So its been a year or so that we had any family pictures taken. So I figured it was time to get some done. The holidays are just around the corner and I really need to start thinking about what kind of Christmas cards I am going to do this year. So the other day I called up a cousin of mine and asked her to meet us down at the college and snap a few photo's of us! I think she did a pretty good job for not really knowing what she was doing. I didn't want anything formal or fancy. I just wanted a few shots of all of us, then some of just Mac and I then some of us with each of our boys. Anyway, here is how they turned out!

Scarecrow Festival

Yesterday was the scarecrow festival here in our town! Its a fundraiser for a program her in our town. We have never gone in all the years we have lived here. So I figured it was time that we go and see what its all about. My class makes a scarecrow every year for it.And this year was no different. They have games for this kids, good stuff to eat. Anyway here is a little of what we did!

here are all the scarecrows that people could bid on and hopefully win!
No I didn't bid on any. I already have a cute one.

This is the one that my team mates and I made. Yes he has paint all over him. We had to make a scarecrow that went along with a book. We choose the book "I Ain't Gonna Paint No More!"
(its a really cute kids book)

then after looking at the scarecrows we purchased some tickets and then the boys were off to play some games!
first I wanted to get some pictures of them looking like a scarecrow!

Bry is a pro at mini golfing!

Kode trying to open up a toy Bry won!

Bry digging through the secret brew finding the perfect treasure!

Kode trying to guess how many candy corns are in the jar. The one closes to the right amount wins an iPod! He really wants to win!

then he was off to play some games!

then it was time to grab a prize!

All in all the boys had a great time at the scarecrow festival! I enjoyed being able spend some time with my boys. It was a great afternoon!!

Then after we went to the festival we needed some lunch. So we stopped off at Subway for a sandwich. Subway is one of the boys' favorite places to eat! I don't mind it either!

Pictures

So I have been very discouraged about paying as much as I do for the boys to have school pictures done. And when they come in 4 weeks later they are terrible. Then we always have to have retakes done and its just a pain. So this year I decided not to purchase any school pictures. I would just take the boys down to the college and take my own. Now I am no professional photographer but it doesn't take a genius to hold a camera and take a few pictures. So that is exactly what I did. I think they turned out good.
warning: there are lots of pictures in this post.
