~A Halloween Package~

This little fun Halloween package showed up at our house a few days ago!! (its so much fun to get goodies in the mail) Thanks Grams and Grandpa Roger for sending us this bucket full of goodies. Our whole family really enjoyed all of it!!
the bucket was full of mini eyeball gums, popcorn balls, chex-mix, different kinds of yummy homemade cookies and all of it was covered in a cob-webs with a large spider topping it off!
caught you sneaking some treats dad!!
even our dad got to taste some of the treats
(not much though cause we have some growing boys in our house and they seem to eat everything real fast)
and there's Bry taking all of the gum eyeballs off of the top of the package!
and one of him opening his very own little package
and another one of him eating some "bugger" candies
(he said they were pretty gross)
THANKS GRAMS FOR THE FUN GOODIES FOR HALLOWEEN!!
(sorry no pictures of Koda cause he would not let us take any. he was feeling a little grumpy that day)

the wagon!!

The little red wagon the boys got for Christmas several years ago and its been through so much! But its still goin'. The boys decided that they wanted to paint it with some misc paint we had in the garage. At first I thought to myself what are they doing but I figured they are having fun and its their wagon so what the heck!
(yes they built a roof on top of it a couple of weekends ago)Bry did some of the painting but mostly just hung out!
Kode was the "captain" over all the painting
And this is our little neighbor Jakob. He came to help
And this is what the wagon ended up looking like when they were all done! Pretty crazy but they really had a good time!

Minor Surgery!!

Shawn had to have a minor surgery last week on his head. It was an in-and-out procedure. He had to have a cyst removed off of his head. Thanks to those wonderful jeans that you automatically inherit when you are born. Well this is one of those. He has a few of them but this one was exceptional one!
(it was so large that it was being irritated from his hard hat)
They removed about a dime size of stuff from the cyst and then stitched him up with 10 stitches and sent him on his way.
(warning: the pictures are kind of gross)
he had to wear this bandage on his head for 24 hours after the surgery. then he was ok to take it off.
and this is what it looked like after surgery. kind of gross but much better then before and the cyst gone!
So on Friday he had to go back into the doctor and have the stitches taken out. The doc said that everything looks great. Shawn said that he was glad it was over. (well at least that one. he has 2 more that need to be removed but that will be later on down the road. they are not as large and don't bug him)

BMX Riding

Lately the boys have been asking to go over to the church to ride their bikes. (the church is a 2 blocks away from our house so I don't get very excited and the hole neighborhood goes with them) So Shawn and I decided to go and see what they were up to. When we got there the kids were adding on to their BMX track. They were making more jumps to jump off of and trying to make a obstacle course for them to ride around on. Something good for all of them to keep busy with. some of the neighborhood kids hanging out
way cool Kode
gotta love the toung hanging out
Kode was pretty proud of himself jumping as high as he was
and Shawn could not stand it he had to go out and help them with getting their track together
Bry gives it 2 thumbs up!
All in all it was a lot of fun watching the boys ride around on their bikes. (although there are times when they really scare me but I guess as long as they are having a good time that is all that matters)

that time of year

so its that time of year again. the time to get everything winterized and put away for the winter. i don't know that i was quite ready to put everything away but after that cold spell we had last week i realized we really needed to get it done right away. shawn has to work the next few weekends so i figured this was a great time to get it all done.
see ya next spring patio set
and all of the stuff from the boys play set had to be put away
we winterized all of our 4-wheelers, our cab-over and got everything taken care of with the air-conditioner. then after all of that we made our way inside the house and covered all of the windows with plastic. man it was a very busy weekend. so now i think we are somewhat ready for the cold weather. (i am not sure i am officially ready for the cold yet. summer was just not long enough) owell i guess it is what it is!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRY AND MIMAW!!!
Today Bry turned 8 years old. I just can not believe how big by baby is getting. He had a good day. We just hung out around the house. He really does not like to go anywhere, he's much of a home boy. He just likes to hang at home with his buddies and watch TV every chance he gets.
Instead of a cake he wanted brownies. So i made some just for him!
Cousin Kimney gave him a Fedora hat. He really likes these kind of hats. Thanks cousin Kimney
Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa Paxman, Grandma Fran, and Grams & Grandpa Roger for sending Bry Birthday cards and $$$. You know he loves $$$. (grams: also thank-you for the package of goodies. Bry was excited that he got his own box of goodies. now its his turn not to share any if he chooses to)
Shawn and I gave him a gift card and a benni for when he rides his 4-wheeler he can wear it underneath. (he informed me the other day that all motocross racers have one of these under their helmets and he really needs to have one. not that he is a motocross racer or anything)
Bry we hope you had a wonderful 8th birthday. It seems like we just had you. 8 years has gone by so fast. There is never a dull moment around our house with you around. You keep all of us on our toes. Thanks for being you. We love you lots!!

Koda got a camera for his birthday. So the other day I asked him if I could down load the pictures off of his camera and blog about them. He said he was cool with that! Its pretty funny some of the things that were on there. Some of them I could not even tell what they were but for the most part he is a pretty good photographer.
Bry pretending to drive my car in the garage
our little dog Abbey
and our other dog Shamus
I am not sure who took this one of him.
and our silly dad
He really enjoys taking pictures of everything. So I am excited to be able to post his pictures on my blog. Stay tuned!!

Trip to the Knolls!!

For Shawn's birthday he wanted to go riding and camping one last time. So, we decided to meet up with some of his family at the Knolls. It was a great time, but man it was sure windy!! (I think that we came home with several pounds of sand in our cab-over.)(this is a picture of life flight landing right in front of us sorry it was dark and I had a hard time taking pictures in the dark) Anyway, the story is that we saw an ambulance get on the interstate when we were just heading into Wendover. We did not think much of it. So when we got off of the interstate to go to the knolls there was the ambulance blocking the road. An EMT came over and asked us to stay back several yards so that life flight could land behind them. They were going to transport their patient via life flight. So we did what we were asked. It was pretty cool to see the helicopter that close. (we always hear it go over our house but we have never seen it that close up before) Anyway after that we were on our way to find a camping spot for the night!
Every morning we were spoiled to some good dutch oven breakfast!! And the food is AWESOME!! (although the wind was a little crazy at times so part of the time we were eating sand with our meals. Owell I guess a little sand wont hurt anyone right!)
Then off for lots of fun riding in the sand!
Bry enjoying playing in the sand (he told me his 4-wheeler does awesome in the sand)
On Saturday we celebrated Shawn and Rachel's birthdays. They are officially 34 years old. Shawn had a few things to open and enjoy on his birthday.
