love shopping like this. . . . . .

So I went to JcPenney's the other day cause Kode needed some pants badly! My intentions was to get him a pair or two of jeans and then be on my way! Well needless to say I got a little more than I planned on. But I only spent $100.00.

I was able to get him . . . .

4 pairs of pants

8 long sleeved shirt

1 jacket

1 winter coat (he came home the other day and said that he fell on the playground and ripped his coat. He wanted to know if we could get the sewing machine out and sew it. Aaahh no I said. I am not that good with the sewing machine. I will just look for another one I told him)

and a short sleeved shirt for Shawn!

All for only $100.00. I am so proud of my self!!

So when I got home I started looking at the price tags on everything and my receipt. I noticed that the winter coat was originally $59.99 and I payed $13.60. Then the jacket was originally $80.00 and I payed $12.80. And then all the t-shirts were originally $19.99 and I payed anywhere between $4.00 - $5.60 for each for them! And then the sign where the jeans were said they were $16.99 and then when I got up to the register they rang up to be $12.00 and then I got an additional discount on top of that which brought them out to be $9.60 each. Ooh and Shawn's shirt was originally $19.99 and I payed $9.60 for it!

I just love it when I come across these kind of deals!! Especially cause my boys are growing up so fast. Its so hard to keep them in cloths right now. I am sure not wanting to pay full price on anything if I don't have to!

(as for Bry he doesn't need anything. Our neighbor keeps him supplied very nicely. I am so thankful that she gives us their stuff.)

A Valentine Package!!

THANKS GRAMS AND GRANDPA ROGER!!
The other day we pulled into the drive way at the house and saw a package sitting on the front porch. The boys quickly got out of the car and ran over to see what it was. Kode brought it into the house. I told him it was a package from grams. At first him and Bry decided they didn't want to open it until Valentines Day so I set the box into our laundry room. Then a couple days later Bry asked if they could just open it. He really wanted to see what was inside. I told him he would have to talk to Kode. Well Kode decided it would be fine to open it a little early. So they did!!Kode reading his card and looking at some pictures she had sent from when they were with them this past summer!
My mom sent them a little sand kit to do and Kode couldn't wait to break it out and do it right then! They just love doing little crafts
and Bry enjoying some chocolate!
There was a little something in it for Shawn and I also. She sent Shawn some of his most favorite chocolates (turtles) and I got some Mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and a gift card to Olive Garden (my most favorite place to eat out)
Thanks mom for sending us a package! Its so much fun to come home from work and have a package on our front porch just waiting for us!

Valentine Box!

The other day Kode came home with a note from his teacher that stated that all the students in the 4th grade needed to create their own (or have someone help them create) a valentine box. (one student from each class will go home with a prize for the best valentine box. So Kode wanted to do something so he could win that prize) So I got on the computer and started looking at different ideas. I came up with a few ideas but none which Kode liked. So I asked Shawn to drum something up that would be up to Kode's par. (the note also stated that you could not purchase anything. All resources had to come from within your home. You could use tissue paper, boxes, paper etc. Just items that you have in your house. Well Shawn and Kode came up with a great idea!!
They decided to make a Robot as the Valentine Box!
I am not sure where all the materials came from (I didn't realize we had all of this stuff just laying around) but somehow they were able to put it all together. We had all of the spray paint in the garage, and both of them went to town making sure the robot looked good! Shawn even was into doing the project. It was so neat that he was so willing to help Kode!
So here is what the finished Robot looks like!!
The Robot turned out great! They both did an awesome job!
(I am thinking that Kode's robot is going to be the largest valentine box in the whole 4th grade!! Its a big one!)
Now getting it to school is going to be a trick!

dressing up

So at school yesterday the boys could dress up. The theme was the 70's, 80's, or 90's. Bry choose the 90's! Shawn helped him get all geared up and colored his hear. He wore a muscle shirt, had a bandanna on his wrist and one on his leg, his pants were rolled up at the bottom and Shawn colored his hear blue, green and white. He was quite the 90's rock star! Anyway he had a great day!

(Kode had no interest in dressing up. He thought it was stupid. Great attitude Kode) But Bry sure had a great time!!

another blanket

The other day Grams called and asked Kode if he would make a baby blanket for a family member that is going to be having a baby boy soon! He said he would love to and he was so excited cause he would be able to use the sewing machine again! LOL! Anyway him and I went down to Joann Fabrics and picked out some fabric. (we were there for about 45 minutes deciding on what fabric we should use. They have so much to choose from it was hard to decide but we finally did. We came to an agreement on a multi sports fabric) Then we were on our way home to get our project started!
here he is going to town on sewing!
and then tying it!

I have to say the blanket turned out good! I hope that Jeremy and his wife enjoy it!

Exercising!

I have been exercising each day for a week or so. Well the other day Bry wanted to exercise with me. He thought what I was doing was so easy. So I let him hang with me. I first started out on the treadmill for 15 minutes (he just ran next to the treadmill and told me stories) then we were off to do an exercising video for 20 more minutes. He hung with me for about 7 minutes of the video then he was off to play with his buddies. He said what I was doing was way to hard. (I just laughed) Anyway, here he is lifting some hand weights! He wanted to take a picture of me doing push-ups. So here I am!

new shoes

Kode needed some new shoes so him and I went down to Famous Footwear and found some cool new diggers. I have to say he is not much into shoe shopping. He knew he wanted some that had Velcro or some that he could just slip on (nothing that had to do with laces) and once he found these ones, and I might add he found them on the sale rack he was ready to purchase them and be on our way. He was not much into letting me see what is there for me but that was ok cause I really don't need any more shoes!
(he says he is now going to be the fastest runner in his class with these new shoes.) LOL!! Anyway, he is now ready for Disneyland and for all the walking we will be doing!!

Our Superbowl. . . . .

Our Superbowl Party was a good one! It was just the boys and I and a few of our neighbor boys hanging out at our house watching the game. Shawn had to work (that was kind of a bummer) But I made a salad, some finger foods, and we just junked out!!Bry wanted me to make a cheese ball. So I thought that would be a good snack that everyone would like!
All Kode wanted was chocolate covered strawberries and olives to eat during the game.
(what a combo)
So I did my best on making the chocolate covered strawberries.
and here we are all watching the game and piggin' out
Kode, Jakob and Bry!
All in all we had a good time watching the game. It was just a bummer that Shawn had to work! We sure missed him!

Hanging Out With The Girls!!

Last night I was invited to go to dinner with some of my co-workers. We were out to celebrate a friends birthday!! I just had a great time being able to hang out with some of the people that I work with. Its so nice to go out once in a while and hang with the girls! We all had a great time!(Lucinda, Melinda, Melanie, Stacie, and Me)
The Birthday Girl Melanie!!
(the reason why she looks so funny in this picture is cause they brought her a dessert that had a sparkler sticking out of it that was lit which looked like it was going to catch her on fire!)

Cowboy. . . . .

This past week we have been celebrating Cowboy Poetry within our community. Each day the boys would dress up in their cowboy gear! (well Kode has a different version. see below) Bry would wear his cowboy hat one day and then the next day he would wear his fedora hat. Anyway it was a very busy week. Kode got to go on a field trip to see some cowboys in action, then the school had a pancake breakfast, and one day they had a chuck wagon lunch (which consisted of hot dogs, chips, milk, and a cookie) Anyway we all had a great week!
Here is Kode in his version of a cowboy!
(he said he still needed to do his hair. He was not much into wearing a cowboy hat)
At school one of the days Kode made this paper bull!
then he created a wanted poster of himself!
(it says I am brave, and helpful and determined) I just love the self portrait that he drew of him self. It cracks me up!
and Bry on this day he choose to wear his Fedora hat! He just loved dressing up like a cowboy all week.

Wow I Can't Believe It. . . . . .

Goodbye to January
Wow I can't believe its February 1st already!! Where is the time going?? This year is flying by!! (they say the older your kids get the faster time goes. Yea I guess that's right cause I just can not get a grip on how fast time is going. It doesn't seem like I get everything I have on my to do list done each day)
Well I guess all I can say is HAPPY FEBRUARY!!
