Choir Concert

The other day Kode's 4th grade class had a little choir concert/class play. Kode is not much for being up on stage or singing but this is something that they have been practicing most of the year for and he did well.

All in all it was a good concert and the play was cute.
So that's it for the 4th grade music class. This was their last concert at this school and with this music teacher. Its crazy to think that he will be attending an intermediate school next year (I always new it as middle school, but for some reason they call it intermediate school here)

the bench

This bench was given to us a few years ago.
Well last year we were going to just throw it away and for what ever reason it never made it there. So when we were making plans on how we were going to redo our back yard we decided to repaint it and utilize it. (well first we were going to throw it away again and then when we started looking into how much a new one costs we decided that a little paint and some elbow grease on our old one would be better and it would be just like getting a brand new one) The bench is in such bad shape that no one would dare sit on it cause you would probably fall right on the ground.

So we did just that!
So I spray painted the metal part of the bench green (the boys asked me why I choose green and I told them that I wanted to bench to stand out a little from the rock and I figured green would do just that. They don't care for the color that I choose) Anyway, Mac cut me some new wooden pieces I stained them all and then he put it back together for me.

And here is how it turned out!
Just like new!!

Sweet another thing checked off of my to do list!!

A Little Get Away!!!

So the other day we decided to make a trip to Layton to take some furniture up to some of Mac's family members. It was nice to get out of town and see some family.

Well getting out of town was very difficult! Just about a mile or so out of town our brakes on our trailer started smoking. So we pulled off to the side of the road so that Mac could get under the trailer and see if he could fix the brakes. This is when we found out that we had no tools in the truck to do the job. Well needless to say Mac had a few choice words to say about that! While we were stopped 3 highway patroll officers stopped to see what we were doing. At first that scared Kode but he soon realized that all they were doing is making sure we were OK. So we ended up stopping 2 more times to make sure our brakes were working properly. Anyway, it was a long drive but we finally made it to our location!

The next day we did a little shopping and then we had a picnic in the park.
Mac's uncle Dave, aunt Melanie, and Mom (and his sister and her family not pictured) all came to the park where we all had a sandwich and enjoyed each others company. Then after we were all done eating the kids were off to play. The weather was great and there were not very many children there playing so the kids could run and play and enjoy everything at the park.

even the big kid enjoyed himself with the toys
and Bry loved the swings
Jordan's favorite thing was the monkey bars
Kode enjoyed digging in the sand
Isaac just enjoyed being able to play with all the kids
Hannah enjoying the park

Mac, Peggy and Rachel just enjoying the day relaxing and watching the kid play

After the kids played for a while we all decided to take a walk to see the ducks.
Stopping to feed the ducks
Kim joined us at the park
Bry my little monkey wanted to climb in the trees.
and of course we found some water and a very large stick that the kids had to play with. The water was stinky so we defintely did not want to swim or fall in but it was still fun to play around.

Kode tried to splash Kim with the stick so she was wrestling with him. Hes pretty tough and was able to give her a run for her money.
Bry teasing her. Poor Kim couldn't get a break!

Then that night we had a bbq where the kids played games and built a sand castle in the sand box!

All in all it was a great trip. It was so nice to deliver all the goods and visit with the family. Thanks Peggy for letting us stay at your house. We enjoyed your hospitality!
