Gingerbread Houses!

Its been a tradition at our house for a few years now that during the holiday season we decorate gingerbread houses. The boys just love doing this! Its so much fun to see their creativity on how they decorate their own house. It is so messy but so much fun!! Shawn even helped out by making some frosting. (you know you can never have to much frosting) It was fun to have Kim here to join us in our tradition!

Christmas Party

The other night Shawn and I attended his work Christmas Party! It was a lot of fun. They had a really nice dinner, lots of prizes, karaoke, and a fun DJ.

When we walked into the restaurant there was a large glass jar with lots of chocolate candies in it and they handed us each a card and told us to put a number of how many candies we thought were in the jar. Shawn did not want to guess cause he said he didn't want all the candy. Well a few of us gave him some flack about that. So I guessed 2,500 (which was way off) Then Shawn finally gave me his number of 923. Then he said I really don't want that thing!

So we ate dinner and had some dessert then after all that was over with they brought out that jar and said the closest person to the actual candies wins the whole thing. The actual number was 951. So Shawn was the WINNER!!I was so excited!! I really wanted the jar.

They gave out prizes and we one a $40.00 gift card to Smiths.

(that will come in very handy during the holiday season)

I don't get very many opportunities to get any pictures of just the two of us. So I try to take advantage of every opportunity I can. Thanks Newmont for such a fun Christmas Party!

Thanks Shawn for all of your hard work and early mornings when you really don't want to get out of bed, so we can have the nice things we have and so that we can attend these fun parties. We couldn't do it with out you! I Love You!!

Our Christmas Tree!

We have actually had our Christmas Tree up for a while now

(since Shawn works shift work and only has 2 weekends off a month we schedule our things around his schedule) but I thought I would document it. The boys just love helping put up our Christmas decorations and decorating the Christmas Tree is no exception, and they always do a great job.

I have always wanted a tall and slim tree and this year Shawn decided to purchase one that is 9 feet tall and is pre-lit. It is so beautiful. I am loving it. (I do have to say it was very hard to decorate the top of it though. We had to get the step ladder out in order to decorate it.) As you can see Bry standing on the step ladder just to reach as far as he could just to put up a few of the decorations. Anyway I just love this time of year! Its so much fun!!

Festival of Trees!!

Last weekend was the festival of trees at our convention center. I really enjoy going to this each year. People are so creative when it comes to decorating trees. I just wish I could be as creative as some of those people are. Anyway here are some of the trees that we saw!We thought that this peppermint tree was pretty cool looking

I really enjoy going to the festival of trees every year. The trees are so beautifully decorated and it gives me so much inspiration to decorate my tree. Although I do the same thing year after year. (we do not bid on any of the trees cause we have 3 trees of our own. we sure do not need another one)
