talk about some rock

So Mac and I decided that our back yard needed something done to it. Our back hill was covered in weeds. Those dang things are such a pain and they never go away!! Anyway, we decided to purchase some large rock to cover the hill. So Mac built sides on our flat bed trailer and then we went and got our own rock at a rock place.

The rock is so large and heavy that Mac can only hold a few rocks in Clyde (our wheelbarrow) at a time. This project has turned out to be a little larger than we initially thought.
Here are Kode and Mac loading the rock in to Clyde. One at a time!
(I have been little help cause my back is not so great and doing this does would not help my situation) I asked Bry if he would help us and he told me that he needed to entertain the neighborhood kids. So hes no help!

So far Mac and Kode have moved 30,500 lbs of rock (over 15 tons) this far. The back yard is looking so good, but its not finished yet. I will post more pictures later.

Learning how to mow. . . . .

Shawn got a new/used lawn mower from his mom. So Kode asked Mac if he would teach him how to mow the lawn.(he is 10 years old and that's a great time to learn and start helping out in and around the yard) Kode was all sorts of excited and mowed the back yard!

Mac said he missed a few spots but for the most part he did a great job!
Thanks Kode for all of your help!

My Awesome Little Helper!

So the other night I told the boys that I was going to need some help with picking up the house and helping me do a few things in the cleaning department of the house. Our home is a large one and I need some help and its good for the boys to learn how this cleaning thing works. So anyway, Kode decided that he didn't want to spend all his time just cleaning on his Saturday morning (he would rather be drinking coffee and watching cartoons) So he got to work the night before. Really all I was going to ask of them was to clean their rooms, take their laundry down to the laundry room and clean their bathroom.

Well Kode decided that the house needed to be vacuumed, then he dusted the furniture, he watered the plants throughout the house, cleaned 2 bathrooms, and started the dishwasher. So I just let him do his thing! It was very nice to wake up Saturday morning and not have to worry about cleaning most of the house. (I asked Bry why he wasn't helping Kode and he said "well he's doing just fine by himself." Bry tries to avoid house cleaning at all costs)

Thanks Kode!! Your an AWESOME help!! I appreciate YOU!!
