Sincerely, Bry

and this is Kode's letter!
and the stuff Kode is asking for is:
- a computer
- an XBox 360 slim edition with extra controllers (3)
- XBox live for 12 months
- banana chair
- The Great Del Moody card game
- modern warfare 3, black ops 2, and Microsoft points 1600 or more :)
- a cell phone for me, a touch screen
car/fast racing games
Thanks Santa, Merry Christmas
Sincerely, Kode

Writing Santa a letter is fun to do. The boys and I talked about just cause you write Santa a letter telling him of the things you would like him to bring you doesn't mean that you are going to get everything you listed. They said that they knew that. They just wanted to let him know what they wanted. I thought it was cute!

Anyway Happy Christmas Eve to everyone! We hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve. We hope that Santa finds everyone and leaves them a little something!
Merry Christmas!

Sledding!

We finally got some snow last night. We really haven't gotten much snow this winter so when the boys woke up this morning they were very excited to see that there was snow and that they could go out and play in it! They asked if I would take them to Angel Park to go sledding. At the Angel Park there is a really cool sledding hill so after I finished up a few things around the house I took them over to the park so that they could do some sledding! Anyway here are a few pictures of them sledding!
Kode just after he came down the hill!

Bry and Kris going down the hill backwards!

and them just after they fell off of the sled!

then back up to the top of the hill for some more sledding!

Kode loved going down the hill on his belly!

Bry and Kris having a great time!

Bry hooting "yea we are having a great time"

Bry, Kris, and Kode!

all in all they had a great time sledding today!

Acts of Kindness!

Mimaw and Grumpy sent us some money a couple of weeks ago and asked us to use it for acts of kindness! I have thought of several ways to use the money! I really wanted the money to be for people that really could benefit from it. But I also wanted it to be something that the boys could help us do. I really wanted them to be a large part of the acts of kindness. I want them to see another part of Christmas other than getting stuff! I always tell them "its not what you get its what you give" so this is a great way for them to really see what I mean! So after talking with some family members and listening to some of their suggestions we decided we would use the money and purchase dog and cat food with it and then take it to our local animal shelter! We knew that they could really benefit from the food. Our animal shelter is always full and they are always needing donations to help them with all of the animals. So this was a great way to use the money and a great way for the boys to be involved in this years act of kindness!
Kode helping me find the largest bag of dog food. Him and I figured out what it would take to get the largest bag of food for the most bang for our buck! That way we could get more for our money!

Then he helped me load 2  46lb bags of dog food into our cart!

He said he really enjoyed doing stuff like this. It made his little heart full of joy!
The dog food just about filled up our cart but we still had to get some cat food!

So now it was Bry's turn to help me figure out what kind of cat food we should get!
He found some that he thought the cats would like!
So he loaded up 2  25lb bags in our cart!

Then we were on our way to pay for it and take it to our local animal shelter!

When we got to our animal shelter they were closed but they let us in for a minute to drop all the food off. They were very touched that we would do something like this. They rarely receive anything for all the animals they receive in the shelter throughout the year. They thanked us many times and asked us if we would come back at a later date to take a walk around the shelter and see how they are going to us our generous donation! We were all very happy to do this for them and we knew that they would benefit from this act of kindness the most!
Thanks Mimaw and Grumpy for giving us this opportunity to help others out during this wonderful time of year!

2 Awards!

Bry received 2 awards from his teachers yesterday at school! He had no idea he was even chosen to get an award! I received a phone call the night before saying that your child would be receiving an award. So I made arrangements to be there when he was to receive the award or should I say awards!

the first award that Bry received was from the PE teacher. He received student of the month in PE.
(they only choose 1 student per grade level and Bry was chosen for 3rd grade for the month of January)

Then the next award was given out by Brys teacher. Each teacher chooses a student in their class that they feel should receive the student of the month award! So Bry is the student of the month for the month of January. Sometime in January he will get to eat cookies and have juice with the principal.
Bry was very excited that his name was called for student of the month!

Bry and his teacher Mrs. McDermott!
She is an amazing teacher. Bry just loves her. Its been a great year for him this year!

 Bry with his awards!
Congratulations Bry! We are so proud of you!

Bry with his buddies! These are the friends that Bry hangs out with at school!
