Rockin' Ride

Newmont recently contracted Paul Jr. Designs to build a street bike to generate employment interest to our expanding mine sites. Paul Jr., Rachel (Paul's wife), Vinnie, and Joe (from Paul Jr. Designs) showed up for the revel at the Red Lion Hotel and Casino here in Elko. Newmont supplied food and drinks for the 2000 plus people that showed up to see the bike for the first time.
Here is Vinnie taking over to introduce Paul Jr. and the bike

Vinnie just before the bike comes out, he is huge.

Paul Jr. hitting the stage with the new bike, what a rush.

The wheels are made to look like core drill bits. We use the cores to tell us where the gold is for future expansion.

Parts and pieces were gold plated in 24 caret gold, as well as incorporated into the gold paint itself.

This is the bike in front of a 28 foot enclosed trailer custom made for the bike to be transported around the country to job fairs, mine expo's, and biker events. (Its a big hush hush in what Newmont payed for this bike and custom trailer to transport it but from what we are hearing around they paid over one hundred thousand dollars! holy cow!!)

Bry taking a closer look at the new ride.

With that mo-hawk Kode would look right at home on this thing.

I just couldn't get over all the detail on this thing.

Part of the fender support is a track excavator arm and bucket.  Just below that is another core drill bit used for the exhaust tip.

All in all this was such a cool experience! The TV Show Paul Jr. Designs is going to air how they made this bike on the History Channel on April 9th (tonight).
